Kőlik Cave, Szentgál

The visitors over the age of 10 can get acquainted with the formation of the strictly protected cave of Southern Bakony and with the relics of millions of years in overall tours. A time travel under the ground: the visitors can glance into the life of our ancestors living here 4000 years ago. The cave can be approached from the centre of the village in a twenty-minute walk.
Equipment is provided by the National Park Directorate.

Open to visitors:
15th March - 31th Oct : every day, by prior arrangement only (above 10 years of age).

Attention! Presently guests can not participate in advanced tours due to technical reasons.

Provided by us:
- ALTO™ caving overall (16 different sizes);
- caving helmet;
- headlamp.

Please bring with yourself:
You only need to appear at the base building in the centre of Szentgál village 30 minutes before the tour starts, wearing boots you don’t mind getting dirty and comfortable clothes (old, thin gloves may also be useful).

Approach of the cave:
As the cave is strictly protected, we approach the cave entrance on foot (an approx 20-minute-long walk from the village) or horse-carriage drive can be arranged.

It is not allowed to take dogs in the cave!

The area of the Bakony–Balaton Geopark  includes this interpretive site and its surroundings as well.
